School-Based Health Centers: Politics and Community SupportBSN Program School-based health centers (SBHCs) provide comprehensive services to children who often have limited access to primary health care. The number of school-based health centers in the United States continues to grow. However, most SBHCs face opposition from various groups. This article presents an overview of the history of SBHCs, factors influencing their development and sustainability, political influences, and implications for nursing practice.
