The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003

This article highlights the long-awaited passage of Medicare reform legislation. The new law, titled Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003, passed by narrow votes in the House and Senate. The drug benefit is explained and the politics of congressional passage is discussed.
