Compounding TragedyThe case of six health professionals imprisoned and facing execution in Libya only deepens the tragedy of an HIV outbreak among hospitalized children in the late 1990s. Worldwide attention has been focused on this case. Among the issues at stake is the ability of health professionals to provide critically needed services without fear of being turned into pawns or victims.
